DIGITAL AUDIO
Charleston
Charleston digital audio interconnect connects between RCA or BNC sockets in your compact disc transport and your Digital to Audio converter.
The Charleston digital audio interconnect has been designed to be used in the very best music playing systems.
The design principles of the Charleston digital audio interconnect are based on minimising all types of audible distortion in cables based on an understanding of the Laws of Physics. These Laws show how electrical music signals can be distorted along the length of an audio cable. More information on this research can be read in Graham Nalty’s book ‘All Audio Cables Obey the laws of Physics” which can be bought via the Black Rhodium web site.
The Charleston digital audio interconnect has been developed from the Flamenco cable, but with simpler design and less components to include as much of the Flamenco technology as possible for its price.
Charleston RCA digital interconnect cables are terminated with Graham Nalty’s GN4 rhodium plated plugs with the ‘Straight Line Contact’ return conductor. In tests some years ago, we were astonished at how much the sound quality of a cable could be improved with ‘Straight Line Contact’ return conductors compared with the more traditional circumferential return conductors.
Toccata
Toccata 75 Ohm Low Noise RCA is fitted with Graham Nalty Straight Line Contact GN4 RCA plugs. The Straight Line Contact between the return conductor and socket has been chosen from listening tests that showed Straight Line Contact connectors can deliver a large uplift in sound quality compared to high quality connectors with a circumferential connection of the return conductor. The GN4 plugs are plated in rhodium. In listening tests, rhodium plated connectors give a cleaner sound than gold that can add excitement to the presentation of the music.
Toccata 75 Ohm Low Noise BNC digital is terminated with the new Black Rhodium BNC connectors fitted with gold plated pins for long life without tarnishing.
Toccata 75 Ohm very low noise digital cable can be supplied in 1 metre and 1.5 metre lengths.
Overture
Overture digital audio interconnect connects between RCA or BNC sockets in your compact disc transport and your Digital to Audio converter.
Overture digital audio interconnect has been designed to be used in high quality music playing systems.

Operetta
Operetta 75 Ohm Low Noise digital cable connects from the coaxial digital output socket of a CD player or transport to the digital input of a Digital to Analogue converter.
Operetta 75 ohm Low Noise digital audio cable is aimed at audio equipment of above average sound quality to deliver the most benefit from using a separate DAC. OPERETTA 75 Ohm low noise Digital audio cable Is also ideally suited for upgrading systems with separate CD transport and DAC. It delivers a ‘lower noise floor’ upgrade in sound quality over Allegro S.
Operetta 75 Ohm Low Noise Digital is hand assembled at the Black Rhodium factory in Derby using high quality parts and materials, Design of Operetta is based on very extensive research work and auditioning of test cables carried out to develop the higher quality Largo and Toccata digital audio cables. Operetta Digital is simplified in design to attract a wider audience from its lower, more competitive price.
Operetta 75 Ohm Low Noise Digital employs silver plated conductors, for maximum transmission of high frequencies, enclosed in in a low loss dielectric material. This is then covered by a conductive layer to prevent microphony and screened in a silver-plated copper braid. A plastic sheath covers the screen. Further screening is applied to reduce EMI and RFI effects. The whole cable is covered in an attractive black braid that also damps down unwanted vibration. A printed heat shrink label defines the cable direction by reading from CD to DAC.
Allegro S
Allegro S 75 Ohm Low Noise digital connects from the coaxial digital output socket of a CD player or transport to the digital input of a Digital to Analogue converter.
Allegro S 75 Ohm Low Noise digital is an ideal choice for high quality music systems in the middle price ranges and for upgrading an existing system
Allegro S 75 Ohm Low Noise is made from a screened 75 Ohm impedance cable and is fitted with an additional braided metal screen to reduce radio frequency interference and enhance sound quality. It is covered in an attractive black braid that damps micro-vibrations within the cable.
Allegro S 75 Ohm Low Noise RCA digital is terminated with specially designed Graham Nalty GN3 gold plated RCA plugs. A special feature of the plugs is ‘Straight Line Connection’ return connection that has been demonstrated to give a cleaner and clearer sound than plugs with full circumferential connection. Allegro S 75 Ohm Low Noise RCA digital is fitted with red and white marked plugs at its ends to maintain equal stocks of both colours and also acting as an aide memoire for direction when attaching the cable.
